In 2013 at the age of 62, Leonid read a book
about the triathlon and immediately decided to
try to swim, drive and run a short Olympic
distance. He soon took part in his first long
triathlon Ironman, where he placed third. In
2015 he qualified for the Ironman World
Championships in Kona, Hawaii. He was not
able to participate there due to a serious injury
after falling off the bike during race in the
Pyrenees two months before the start. The
doctors set Leonid a hip prosthesis and banned
him from running, so he began to learn race
walk. Six months later he participated in the
US Triathlon Championships and walked
through run course in the control time. Six
years later he took second place at Ironman
Tallinn. In February 2022 he won another
Ironman in Oman in his age category.

Master of Sports of Russia in polyathlon. Winner and prize-winner of the European and World championships among mid and senior masters in polyathlon, swimming, triathlon and ski racing. 9 times Ironman, Lyudmila was also engaged in gymnastics and naval all-around. She participated in the first triathlon competition held in Novosibirsk in 1988. At the age of 56 she participated for the first time in the Ironman triathlon in South Korea and took first place in her age group right away. Then there were victories at Ironman in Austria, Poland, Sweden, after which Ludmila was invited to the main start of the Ironman – World Championship in Kona (Hawaii) in 2012. She became Master of Sports at the World Championships in Saint Petersburg 1996.

He performed 10 types of the standard for the candidate for master of sports. In 2000 he got interested in triathlon and in 2008 he received the title of Ironman. In 2011 Oleg became the world Champion in both summer (swimming – cycling – running) and winter (skiing – cycling – running) triathlon varieties.

Candidate for Master of Sports in sailing.
Alexey started doing sports at the age of 7. At the age of 12 he was the second in the All-Union swimming competition. He began to specialize in fin swimming, received the title of Candidate for Master of Underwater Sports. At the same time he got interested in volleyball, as part of the team he won the Moscow Championship among sports schools in his age group. He also received the title of the Candidate for Master of Sports in sailing. He was the team captain that took the third place at the USSR Windsurfing Cup 1991. In 2004 Alexey participated in Antigua Sail Week, an unofficial world championship among ocean yachts, where his team’s yacht took fourth place. Alexey took the prize at his first triathlon in 2017 in Bronnitsy. Since then, he competed in triathlon, open water swimming, cycling and running, where he
won winning prizes.

He died in an accident during triathlon
training in 2022.

Champion, two-time European Champion in winter and summer triathlon in 2012 and 2018. Champion of Russia 2022. He was engaged in athletics, endurance running, various types of all-around. He performed 10 types of the standard for the candidate for master of sports. In 2000 he got interested in triathlon and in 2008 he received the title of Ironman. In 2011 Oleg became the world Champion in both summer (swimming – cycling – running) and winter (skiing – cycling – running) triathlon varieties.

ALEXEY ASAFYEV, 61

Candidate for Master of Sports in sailing.
Alexey started doing sports at the age of 7. At the age of 12 he was the second in the All-Union swimming competition. He began to specialize in fin swimming, received the title of Candidate for Master of Underwater Sports. At the same time he got interested in volleyball, as part of the team he won the Moscow Championship among sports schools in his age group. He also received the title of the Candidate for Master of Sports in sailing. He was the team captain that took the third place at the USSR Windsurfing Cup 1991. In 2004 Alexey participated in Antigua Sail Week, an unofficial world championship among ocean yachts, where his team’s yacht took fourth place. Alexey took the prize at his first triathlon in 2017 in Bronnitsy. Since then, he competed in triathlon, open water swimming, cycling and running, where he won winning prizes.

He died in an accident during triathlon
training in 2022.
